What is EPR?

EPR stands for Extended Producer Responsibility, translated as extended producer responsibility. Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is an environmental policy of the European Union that requires producers to be responsible for the entire lifecycle of their products in the market, from product design to the end of the product lifecycle (including waste collection and disposal)

Who needs to register for EPR in France/Germany?

If any of the following conditions are met, registration for EPR in Germany/France is required

Produce EPR compliant products in the French/German market

Import goods that meet EPR requirements into the German/French market

Sell products that meet EPR requirements in the German and French markets, and you have not established a company in France

For most Chinese sellers, they are obligated to register EPR for the products they sell. All sellers of the product categories covered by EPR are required to do so.
